Loader Fuel Tank Maintenance

May 16, 2024

info-552-736

Routine maintenance of loaders using qualified diesel and fuel tanks plays an important role. If the diesel in the fuel tank is not clean, it will significantly increase the wear or corrosion of the fuel system plunger, oil delivery valve and other components, thereby reducing the performance and life of the loader. Therefore, it is very important to pay attention to the daily maintenance of the loader's fuel tank.

During the operation of the machine, the amount of oil in the fuel tank should be known at any time, and refueling should be made in time when there is a shortage of oil to prevent dirty oil or air at the bottom of the tank from entering the fuel system due to depletion of oil storage and affecting the normal operation of the diesel engine.

Diesel should be allowed to settle for more than 48 hours before being added to the fuel tank to prevent impurities in the oil from being brought into the fuel tank. The oil pumping unit that refuels the loader must be clean and pollution-free, and must also avoid pumping the settled oil at the bottom of the barrel into the tank.

After finishing the work, the oil quantity should be checked, and the drain valve should be opened before starting work to discharge the dirty oil or water accumulated at the bottom of the tank.

The vent hole on the fuel tank cap should be cleared regularly. If it is clogged, negative pressure will be formed in the fuel tank, which will reduce the oil pressure and oil output, and the power of the diesel engine will be affected.

When the fuel tank leaks or the switch is not closed tightly, it will not only pollute the environment, but also easily cause a fire. Therefore, when there is a leak, the machine must be stopped for repair welding or the switch must be replaced. Otherwise, under the vibration of the machine, the leakage will become more and more serious, causing greater losses.

After the loader has been working for a long time, a large amount of dirt will be produced in the oil tank. Some of the dirt will sink to the bottom of the tank, and some will stick to the tank walls. At the same time, dust or water will inevitably enter the fuel tank every day. Therefore, the fuel tank should be cleaned at least once every 1000 to 1500 hours.
